What data we collect
- Account data: email, password (hashed), name.
- Profile data: photo, tagline, bio, contact details, business info, skills, social links — all voluntarily provided.
- Content: posts, comments, courses, messages, ratings you create.
- Technical: IP address (security/rate-limiting), session cookies, server logs.
Why we collect it
To operate the platform: authenticate you, display your profile to other members, deliver messages, send transactional emails, and moderate content.
Legal basis
Consent (announcement emails) and legitimate interest (operational use, security, fraud prevention).
Third parties
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- YouTube / Vimeo — embedded course video lessons.
- Google Fonts — typography.
Cookies
PHPSESSID— required for login.bbmsg_remember— "remember me" cookie.cookie_consent— remembers your dismissal of the cookie banner.
Data retention
Active accounts: kept while active. Deleted accounts: profile anonymised; posts and comments stay attributed to "Deleted member". Audit log entries kept 12 months.
Your rights
Access, correct, port, or delete your data at any time via Settings. You can also complain to the UK ICO.
